Ryan Biggs | Clark Davis is one of 11 teams participating in the 2023 Capital Region Canstruction competition! This is our sixth year participating as a build team. Over the course of our involvement, Team Ryan Biggs | Clark Davis has donated over 25,000 pounds of canned food to neighbors in need.

It starts with one can. To feed the hungry. To lift the spirit. To change the world. The Society for Design Adminsitration founded Canstruction based on the concept that one can of food may change someone’s life and one single person can make a difference. Canstruction is a design- build competition that gathers canned food donations for community food banks. Teams of architects, engineers, and contractors, design and create structures made completely out of canned goods.

The beneficiary of our efforts is The Food Pantries for the Capital District, a coalition of over 70 food pantries working together to feed the hungry in Albany, Rensselaer, Saratoga, and Schenectady Counties. The goal of Canstruction is to not only raise food and funds for neighbors in need, but to raise public awareness of the worldwide fight against hunger.

Canstruction Build Day will be held on April 17, 2023, at Crossgates Mall in Albany; the theme is New York State of Mind. Right now our Canstructure theme is being kept a secret, but we can’t wait to unveil it this spring! Crossgates Mall is a new venue for Canstruction with unlimited potential. The mall will be transformed into a space filled with enormous canned food structures showcasing the talents of local A/E/C firms. The exhibits will be seen by visitors from near and far, and there is even a chance for the public to help the cause by voting for your favorite with cans of food.

Ryan Biggs | Clark Davis will need to purchase thousands of cans of food to complete our CANstructure. Every canned good purchased to build our structure and every dollar earned above what we need to pay our grocery bill will be donated directly to The Food Pantries. To commemorate our 50^th anniversary in 2023 and to give back to the community we were founded in, Ryan Biggs | Clark Davis has pledged to match donations raised during our fundraising campaign to up to $5050.50.
