MJ is excited to be participating in the annual Capital Region CANstruction competition. The organization distributes canned food and monetary donations through design/build competitions. Traditionally, teams of architects, engineers, and students come together to design massive structures made from non-perishable food cans. The teams compete for awards and the structures are put on display to be judged and viewed by the public. After the exhibition, all cans are donated to the Food Pantries for the Capital District. 

The event will be held at Crossgates Mall in May 2024. MJ is one of 12 teams competing in this year’s event and would greatly appreciate your support. Capital Region CANstruction has proven our impact on the local community. In 2023, during our “New York State of Mind” competition, we contributed 82,045 pounds of food, as well as a check for $60,000 to our beneficiary, The Food Pantries. Coming off a two-year shutdown, this is an amazing achievement for our tiny city and speaks to the commitment of our teams, volunteers, partners, and sponsors! To date, we have contributed 907,863 pounds of food and nearly $379,000 to The Food Pantries. 

We are reaching out to you to ask for your support in fighting hunger in our neighborhoods. Your donation will help raise funds needed to purchase the cans of food for the competition and exhibition.
